Dean's Circle Scholarships

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean’s Circle Scholarship program recognizes the college’s best and brightest incoming first-year students.

Twenty five incoming first-year students will receive a $1,000 Dean’s Circle Scholarship for fall 2017. Recipients must be enrolled as first-time, full-time freshman undergraduate students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University’s Tempe campus for fall 2017. Applications for fall 2017 awards are no longer available, as the ASU Scholarship Portal is closed.

General criteria for the Dean’s Circle Scholarship

Recipients must meet the following:

  • Be a recipient of one of ASU's New American University Scholarships: President's Scholarship, Provost's Scholarship, Dean's Scholarship or University Scholarship.
  • Be a first-time freshman student in fall 2017.
  • Have a declared major in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences during fall 2017.
  • Enroll full time (at least 12 hours) and maintain full-time enrollment to stay eligible.
  • There is no residency requirement.

Award requirements for recipients

Recipients of the Dean’s Circle Scholarship must:

  • Provide a written thank-you note.
  • During fall 2017, meet with the dean of the college for a briefing and photo.
  • Be willing to be photographed and interviewed.

Dean’s Circle Scholarship recipients may be recognized at the college's Fall Welcome event. Recipients may also be asked to serve as an advisory group to the dean and dean’s office staff throughout the academic year, focusing on ways to improve and enhance the student experience in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
