Dean's Council

Shaping our college's future

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean’s Council is an exclusive group of alumni who help shape the future of our college by staying committed to the highest standards of excellence and innovation – in the classroom and research endeavors across our three divisions in the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences. Our council members assist the dean by giving the community a voice and serving as philanthropic role models who contribute to the Dean’s Council Fund.

This fund enables the dean to attend to urgent needs, further the college’s ability to provide an excellent education, expand research and consider new opportunities that might not otherwise be possible without this valuable resource, such as:

  • CLAS Academy
  • Dean's Challenge Match
  • Dean's Student Emergency Fund
  • Dean's Travel Abroad Scholarships
  • Dean's Undergraduate Research Scholarships
  • Liberal Arts and Sciences Early Start Program

Increasing outreach and collaborative efforts

Council members also carry the vision and mission of our college into the local, national and global community through their professional and personal networks to increase our outreach and collaborative opportunities through new and long-term relationships with corporate and community partners.
