In the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University, you’ll have several opportunities to pursue a pathway to education. From diverse degree programs with concentrations in secondary education to a teaching certificate offered in partnership with the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, we’ll prepare you for a marketable and rewarding career in education. You’ll learn how to impact the lives of students with exceptional teaching.

As you pursue a pathway to education, you’ll receive unparalleled support from a dedicated advisor in our college. You’ll identify a content area you want to master, learn options for certification and determine which pathway to education will work best for your individual goals. If you want to explore your passion for teaching, there’s a pathway for you. From top-notch classroom experiences to teacher certification, you’ll learn how to teach the next generation of scholars to succeed. Whether you want to major in English and teach classic novels or major in biology and mold our future scientists, you’ll reap the benefits of teaching by sharing your passion and impacting the community.  

Get a teaching certificate

The teaching certificate program, offered at the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, combines courses in your major with education courses and clinical experiences so you meet the requirements for Arizona teacher certification. Learn more.

Add an education concentration

The secondary education concentration in our college – available in English, history, mathematics or physics – enables you to earn a bachelor’s degree in a field you’re passionate about while learning how to thrive as an educator. Learn more.

Explore other pathways

Other pathways to education include undergraduate and graduate degrees offered through the Herberger Institute for the Design and the Arts, and the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. Students can also join Teach for America.
