The primary advisory body in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is the College Assembly. The obligation for advice and consent of the members of the College Assembly is vested in the College Senate. All academic matters, including course approvals, curriculum, degree offerings, and the creation of new programs and units, are brought to the College Senate for review and recommendations.
The University Academic Senate at Arizona State University is the representative body of the Academic Assemblies from each ASU campus, which consists of all tenure track faculty, academic professionals, and full-time contract faculty (i.e. lecturers and senior lecturers, instructors, clinical faculty, research faculty, and professors of practice).
