US MapRegional Volunteer Opportunity

You can play an important role in helping the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences maintain connections with alumni in your geographical area. Check out the CLAS Regional Contacts on the map, and then volunteer to become a Regional Contact! You will be asked to:

  • Identify alumni in your area and inform the college of their career advancements and professional accomplishments;
  • Help organize opportunities for alumni to meet with the dean and/or faculty when they travel to your region;
  • Offer alumni simple tips about relocating to your area.

In return for your assistance to the college, you will receive special mailings and be recognized by the dean each year. If you are interested in becoming a regional contact, please call or e-mail Marla Giarratano, associate director of alumni relations, at 480-965-0377.

Regional Alumni Spotlight: Keith Kops '92  

As manager of safety and security for Pixar Animation Studios, a publicly traded digital animation studio located in Emeryville, CA, Keith has conceptualized and implemented all safety and security programs, policies and procedures, including access control, visitor management, asset protection, emergency planning and management, fire/life/safety systems, OSHA regulation compliance, and physical security planning. Keith also oversees the management of high-level investigations, including those involving complex corporate fraud, workplace violence, and threat management.

Keith has over eight years of private-sector investigations and entertainment security management. Prior to joining Pixar Animation Studios in 2000, he was the head of security operations for LucasDigital/Industrial Light + Magic in San Rafael, CA, the largest special effects studio in the United States, with more than 1500 employees. He also has been a security manager for Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, CA, which had over 7000 employees.

Keith holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and Spanish and a master's degree in organizational management. He has several years of law enforcement experience and is certified in emergency management, hate crimes and computer forensics as well as Homeland Security.  

He is also a graduate of the United States Army Military Police School.
