| Become a Volunteer! |
Stay connected with the university and help others to get connected! As a volunteer for the CLAS alumni chapter, you will have a voice in the type of programming your chapter plans, whether it's developing a mentoring program, establishing a scholarship, or recognizing faculty or alumni excellence. You will provide an ongoing identification with ASU by creating opportunities for alumni to share social, cultural, recreational, professional and intellectual experiences. And through these efforts, you will be supporting students as they strive to fulfill their educational dreams.
We are currently looking for at least eight volunteers to donate a half hour of their time to help with Homecoming. If you are interested, please contact Katrina Lessard at 480-675-5967 or email at katrinacristy@cox.net. We will have a volunteer meeting prior to Homecoming to discuss the details, time and date to be determined once all volunteers have been selected.
Community Service Opportunities
Books & Bears are needed for child victims of Hurricane Katrina. Thousands of books and bears are needed for children in
shelters. Not only will the books and bears help them to find a sense of security in their new surroundings, it will improve their reading skills. The books will be read aloud to the children and they also can practice reading aloud to their bears. Since not all elementary school age children are able to return to school, they can learn and maintain their reading skills in these difficult circumstances. Please help this effort! This is a collaborative effort of ASU CLAS, Girl Scouts Troop 375 and the Cherice Cochrane Foundation. Please email Christie Turley at Christie@ThriveMarketing.net if you would like to help.
Also, Project Literacy is looking for anyone who would be willing to donate 45 minutes of their time each week to stop by Frank Elementary School and mentor one of their 4th grade students. The 45 minute time period can be anytime between
10:30am -12:00pm and 1:00pm-1:45pm Monday- Friday. Regardless of your experience, it really is a great way to share your time during the week and a fabulous way for CLAS alumni to give back to our community. To become a volunteer, please contact Scott Ganske at Scott.Ganske@asu.edu or Ryan Donaghy at Ryan.Donaughy@asu.edu .

Are you planning on attending the ASU v. UCLA game in CA on November 12th? If so, you are invited to attend the ASU Alumni tailgate event prior to kick-off on game day.
