Check out all the new things going on at ASU, reunite with your old friends and your favorite professors! More than 30 schools and departments will be represented in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences providing something for everyone. Some of the featured displays include "Lucy", glass blowing, science demonstrations, a wind wagon, meteorite displays, interactive games, hands-on arts and crafts and much more. In addition, the 3rd annual CLAS Alumni Book Fair will offer readings and signings by prominent alumni authors. Come out and enjoy great food and drink provided by Grilled Expeditions and Hensley at the CLAS Alumni Picnic. Look for us between Old Main and the Piper Writers House. Then head on over to Sun Devil Stadium to cheer on the Sun Devils as they take on the Stanford Cardinal - kick-off is 12:30pm. Picnic tickets are still available for purchase online.
CLAS Alumni Book Fair
CLAS Alumni Authors are part of the Homecoming tradition!
The 3rd Annual Book Fair will include readings at the Piper Writers House and book signings scheduled within the Block Party. More than 10,000 people have attended this blockbuster event in the past, giving accepted authors an opportunity to connect with new audiences. This year's participants include:

Rigoberto Gonzalez
Author and Assistant Professor, University of Illinois
Since receiving a MFA in 1997 from ASU, Rigoberto has excelled in the creative writing community, distinguishing himself as a leading poet and writer of his generation. His first collection of poetry, "So Often the Pitcher Goes to Water until It Breaks" was selected by the poet Ai for the 1998 National Poetry Series. Gonzalez is currently an Associate Professor of English and Latino Studies at the University of Illinois and Contributing Editor to Poets and Writers magazine.
Felisa J. Israel
Director, NBA Entertainment
Felisa received a B.S. in Communication from ASU in 1994. As a director with Emmy Award winning NBA Entertainment since 2000, she helps to create the trademark excitement of the NBA's in-arena game entertainment experience. As a top consultant and talent scout in her industry, Israel provides her expertise to entertainment divisions of several NBA franchises, as well as negotiating and booking some of the biggest names in Hollywood.
Mark Kerrigan
Sr. Vice President of SAIC's Energy Systems Group
Mark Kerrigan received a B.S. in Political Science from ASU in 1974. Through Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), Mark directs the business unit that controls the nations's primary energy modeling system and provides support to the National Energy Technology Laboratory, including research on alternative transportation fuels and more efficient power generation.
Barbara Rodriguez Mundell
Presiding Judge, Maricopa County Superior Court
Barbara Mundell received a B.S. in Political Science in 1978 and J.D. in 1981 from ASU. Appointed to the Superiour Court in 1991, Judge Mundell is presently serving a five-year term as the presiding judge for the Maricopa County Superior Court. Prior to her appointment to the bench, Judge Mundell served with the juvenile department as a Maricopa County Superior Court Commissioner. As an attorney in private practice, she specialized in worker's compensation and Social Security cases.
Mr. Conservative: Goldwater on Goldwater
Ellen (Mishkind) Thrasher, class of 1971, will appear in the HBO documentary Mr. Conservative: Goldwater on Goldwater, a 90-minute profile of Barry M. Goldwater, who rose from being a local businessman in Arizona (which was not yet a state when he was born) to become a hugely influential U.S. Senator whose 30-year career reached a crescendo with his ill-fated run for President in 1964. The film follows that tumultuous year, as well as others in a career that encompassed numerous political and ideological triumphs. The documentary, which was produced by CC Goldwater (Senator Goldwater's granddaughter), will be shown on HBO during September and October. After graduation from ASU CLAS, Ellen joined the personal staff of Senator Goldwater in Washington, D.C. and served with him for nearly 14 years.

As a volunteer for the CLAS alumni chapter, you will have a voice in the activities your chapter plans, whether it's developing a mentoring program, leading community service projects or planning various events where alumni can network and provide support for students.
