Books and Bears

Donate new or gently used books and bears to children in need.

Bear should be 8 to 12 inches in height. Book should be appropriate for  1st grade readers.

Each holiday season, donated books and bears from individuals within and outside the ASU community are paired, then wrapped and tied in red and green ribbons, and delivered to designated schools and organizations where they are presented to the youngsters. During the delivery, volunteers model how the children should read to their bears by sitting on a chair and reading aloud while the children listen and observe. Following the presentation, the students are encouraged to read to their bears back at their desks.
